The PrepMasterŪ is a disposable single-use air abrasion instrument that is powered by house air available at every dental chair. Each instrument is pre-filled with 7.25 grams of Aluminum Oxide powder that is confined within until use. Each instrument provides sufficient operational life to treat multiple quadrants. A single PrepMasterŪ is able to perform all classes of cavity preparation, as well as surface etching for cement removal and bond preparation.
It is held as a standard dental handpiece and plugs into the standard house air supply set for 60-100psi, using a screw-on connector. The malleable snout provides for quick nozzle positioning within the oral cavity at about 1mm from the tooth surface. The finger-activated Flow Control Actuator mounted on the device provides instantaneous On/Off flow control while a connector mounted Powder Delivery Slide regulates the powder delivery rate.
Depressing the connector mounted Powder Delivery Slider increases the powder delivery rate and cutting rate. Once the dentist completes the procedure, the PrepMasterŪ instrument is removed from the screw-on connector and disposed as a biohazard material.
